2022-23 Annual Appeal

Each year, the PTA gives funds to West Woodland to help maintain our school’s traditions of quality education and strong community. There are gaps in funding from the district and state, and the PTA steps in to fill those gaps. We are only able to do this because of the financial contributions from our school community.

The PTA’s priorities in this year of learning:

  • A safe & strong community
  • Equitable learning for all students
  • Stable environment for our students, teachers and staff

Please consider donating today.

The PTA is committed to doing all we can to make sure West Woodland provides a stable learning environment for all our students. WE can do this together!

Got Questions about the Annual Appeal?

A parent volunteer from the Annual Appeal team will be available at drop off to answer your questions. We’ll be on the field entrance side on Mondays (10/3 and 10/10) and the Kindergarten entrance on Thursdays (10/6 and 10/13). You can also email questions to wwannualappeal@gmail.com.

Picture Day

Mark your calendars! October 4th and 6th are our school picture days! Your child’s teacher will communicate when their scheduled day is.

Some notes from our photographer: All students will be photographed for school files and the yearbook-so dress your best.

October 12th is Walk/Roll to School Day!

Support your students to walk and roll to school!

Walking and biking to school is a fun way to get exercise, reduce traffic congestion and pollution around schools, and create community. Studies say students who walk and bike to school arrive more alert and ready to learn!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Nov 1-4!

Mark your calendars and keep an eye out for more details and volunteer opportunities! Volunteers are needed to help with classroom visits as well as after school checkout. If you have time to help(especially during the day) please email the volunteer coordinatorvolunteer@westwoodlandpta.org

West Woodland Student Directory 2022-2023

West Woodland has its first student directory since 2017! The PTA has organized an opt in directory for the school community.

It’s not too late to opt-in! If you want to be included in the directory, you can fill out this form.

Please remember that the information shared is for personal use only. If you have any questions or need a copy of the directory, please contact presidents@westwoodlandpta.org.

West Woodland Spirit Wear

Now taking pre-orders for West Woodland t-shirts & sweatshirts! Did we not have your child’s size shirt or sweatshirt at TCB Day? We are placing another order of West Woodland Spirit Wear. Order by October 9 and we will deliver it to your child’s classroom when they arrive.

Aiming for Equity: School Funding

Have you been hearing about funding issues in Seattle Public Schools? Are you wanting to support West Woodland… and feeling like you are wondering how to support other schools in our community? Are you wondering how and why … librarians, nurses, and other staff are financially supported through PTA grants… and how this works across the district?

These questions — and more — motivate the work of the Aiming for Equity Committee. Come to our inaugural meeting! We will discuss our committee’s goals for the year and how we at West Woodland can engage in these questions and this work.

Room Rep Volunteers Needed

Calling all volunteers! We have 2 teacher support positions that we need parents’ help with: Class Email Room Rep and the Class Social Coordinator.
