    Stage Show Details | Lego Expo Details | Art Exhibit Details

    General Information

    • A child may perform in ONE act onstage.
    • Acts may be 1 minute 15 seconds, or less.
    • Acts must contain appropriate language and attire: no bare midriffs, violence or weapons.
    • Acts can be theatrical or skill-based: music, dancing, singing. acting, magic, martial arts. etc.
    • All students must have parent permission – either submitted online, or hard-copy permission slip prior to beginning rehearsals.
    • Acts must attend Mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Wed, Feb 7th, 5:30 PM
    • Acts must attend two out of four Rehearsals in January/February.

    January/February Rehearsals

    • New This Year - Rehearsals leading up to the dress rehearsal will take place on three Friday nights & one Saturday morning at the West Woodland Cafeteria
    • Acts must participate in at least two of the four weekend rehearsals:
      • Fri, Jan 19th 5:00-8:00 PM
      • Fri, Jan 26th 5:00-8:00 PM
      • Fri, Feb 2nd 5:00-8:00 PM
      • Sat, Feb 3rd 9:00AM-12:00 PM
    • Acts must attend mandatory dress rehearsal Wed, Feb 7th 5:30-8:30 PM in order to perform.
    • A sign up genius link to choose rehearsal times will be sent for all students who sign up to perform.

    What to Bring to Rehearsals

    • Music! If an act requires music, Please email a digital copy of this music to prior to the date of your child's first rehearsal. (CD is okay if digital is not possible).
    • Please also bring a digital copy of this music to the first rehearsal. (Again, a CD is okay if digital is not possible). 
    • Sheet Music! We need a copy of any instrumental sheet music to keep until the show, unless student has music memorized.
    • Instruments! Piano provided. Performers should bring own instruments.
    • Rehearsal-ready acts! Performers should have their acts together before the first rehearsal since they have only two opportunities to rehearse on a stage before the dress rehearsal.
    • Props! Please bring all to the first rehearsal.

    5th Grade MCs

    • 5th graders have the opportunity to be MCs for the night in addition to participating in one stage act.
    • MCs do a group number and introduce acts throughout show.
    • All must agree to use appropriate language, follow parent volunteer instructions, and contribute to a positive environment for performers.
    • MCs will have TBD rehearsals for group number and practice presenting.
    • MCs must attend Mandatory Dress Rehearsal on Wed. February 7th, 5:30 PM.

    Lego Expo Details

    General information
    • Lego Expo opens Friday, February 9th at 4:30 PM
    • A child may show ONE Lego structure in the Expo.
    • Non-competitive environment open to boys and girls.
    • Creations maybe static or moving - from a kit or not. Large structures should come with a base not exceeding 15 inches square.
    • The Expo will take place in the downstairs school hallways.
    • Participants are encouraged to remain with their creations before and after the performance.
    • Please be prepared take home child's creation at the conclusion of the evening.

    What to Bring on Expo Night

    • Bring Lego creation on the night of event
    • ID labels will be sent via email.
    • Participants will be asked to complete these and bring them to Expo night.
    • Labels will be placed next to the creation to give credit to the maker and provide titles for the works.
    • Students must assume responsibility for their creations. Leave any precious components at home to avoid loss or damage during what is sure to be a busy night.

    Art Exhibition Details

    General information

    • Art Gallery opens on Friday, February 9th at 4:30 PM.
    • Deadline to bring entry to office is January 29th
    • We will display and celebrate your fantastic artwork. Paintings, prints, drawings, collages, funny little doodles. Show us your favorite!
    • A child may show ONE piece of artwork.
    • All Art must be 18"x24" or smaller and must be able to be stapled to wall for exhibition.
    • Label with child's full name, grade, and title of work
    • Submit labeled entries in the office by Friday February 2nd, to the attention of Ann Rodak
