-
8:50 am 2nd Bell
-
2:55 pm for Kindergarten
-
3:00 pm for 1-5 Grades
Students can enter the classroom at 8:45 and should be seated by 8:50. Students and parents need to be on the playground or in the cafeteria until the first bell rings at 8:45. The halls should be clear of students until 8:45.
It is important that you call the attendance office direct line at 252-1602 or email Marie Sumpter, Office Assistant at mpadler@seattleschools.org if your child is going to be absent from school or tardy for any reason. The school will call the home of any student whose absence has not been reported.
Whenever possible, please refrain from taking family vacations during school time. Keeping a child out of school interrupts quality teaching and learning, and may interfere with important assessment dates.
Leaving School Early
If it is necessary for a child to leave school early, the parent or designated adult picking up the student must come to the school office to sign the child out. The office will not release your child to anyone that is not on your list of adults approved to pick up your child.

School History

West Woodland Celebrated 100 years in 2010. Here is a brief document of West Woodland's History.
If your child will be riding the bus to or from another student’s home who regularly takes the bus, they must have a green bus card. The office staff needs written permission from a guardian to issue a Bus Green Card. Students without written permission will be sent home as usual. Green cards are issued in the office.
West Woodland Walking School Buses
A Walking School Bus is a group of children walking to and from school with a group of adults. West Woodland has many established "Walking School Bus" routes. Parents interested in joining a walking school bus are encouraged to contact a route coordinator and participate. Parents of prospective members are welcome to try out a Walking School Bus with their child at any time. See this link for a list of routes and contacts.
